Highest Basement Collective member Tawobi is back with a brand new LP. F.A.T.E, which stands for “the fish that ate the elephant” is his first full-length project. F.A.T.E follows EPs like Wobiheat (2018), Backwoods (2018), and Friendly Neighborhood Struggle Rapper (2018). After releasing a slew of music in 2018, 2019 and 2020 saw only two singles each from Tawobi. Since the making of F.A.T.E began in 2015, after 2018 it’s clear he was in album mode.

F.A.T.E is fourteen tracks long, two of which are skits, and sits at 42 minutes. The album features one single from each of the past three years. The IHATEYOUSHEED and Moses Mosima assisted “Stone Cold” (2018), “Miyazaki” with IHATEYOUSHEED (2019), and “I Should Be” that was released this past March. The latter is produced by Skywlkr. Production on the album is also handled by Moses Mosima, IHATEYOUSHEED, Andre Oshea, and Tawobi himself. Along with the guest features from the singles, Moolah Marciano, RapperOHM, and Tawobi’s father make appearances on the album.
HBC has had a busy year, and they’ve really kicked it off in the second half of the year. After releasing singles by Tawobi, IHATEYOUSHEED, Theodore Grams, Moses Mosima, and Lord Trippy, F.A.T.E is the third full-length project since July. Lord Trippy released TRIPPY BOOMIN at the end of July and Moses Mosima and IHATEYOUSHEED’s collaborative album Absent came at the end of August.
